Now That's a Cabbage! A Visit to Galway's Farmers Market

The farmer's market in Galway has amazing produce every Saturday and Sunday. And as I've mentioned before it's so fresh that there's usually still dirt on the carrots and the potatoes. But when I passed one of the vegetable stands last week I had to stop and take a picture.

This has got to be the biggest cabbage I've ever seen. It's next to some lemons that were not exactly small themselves.

The vendor asked me if I wanted to buy it. I told Ihim didn't think I could eat that much cabbage in a year. He said he was hoping someone with a very big family would pick it up. I just took a picture of it and bought two carrots.

And that's all I have to say about the cabbage....I really just wanted to post a picture of it.

One of my favorite things about Ireland is stumbling across unexpected moments like this. Have you ever found something unusual at a farmers’ market while traveling? I'd love to hear about it.
